Inside the EVP: Clearwater Beach
by Matt Heath - May 7th, 2007
The EVP tour was back on the road again this week. This time it was Cinco de Mayo, Corona Light, and Clearwater Beach...the perfect recipe for a great time.
I came down to St. Petersburg Friday morning so that I could meet up with my brother, Mike, and go through my final interview with First Investors. I am pleased to report that come August 1st I will become a contributing member of society. I guess Peter Pan has to grow up some time. I have had a great run but it is now time for me to attain some of my other life goals. So if anybody needs any help investing their retirement funds you can go ahead and contact my brother or I. And if you can't tell.this is a blatant plug, but it is my blog and I am going to take advantage of this opportunity.
Inside the EVP: Isle of Palms
by Matt Heath - April 30th, 2007
This week, the EVP tour came to my home state of South Carolina. Living just up the road in Myrtle Beach, I only had a short drive down to Charleston. On the way down I got to do a little promotion for the tour, with radio interviews on 98x and the Bridge 105.5. I have to admit, I was a little nervous when they told me they were going to do the interview live in 30 seconds, so I took a deep breath and prayed they didn't ask any screwball questions...I survived.
Inside the EVP: Jacksonville Beach: "Do You Feel It?"
by Matt Heath - April 16th, 2007
David Goodman and I made the 5 1/2 hour trip from Myrtle Beach to Jacksonville in a scooch under 8 hours. With tax deadlines looming, we made a pit stop at the Family Circle Cup in Charleston and experienced a Serena Williams sighting...your welcome Robert. When we finally hit I-95, we had a craving for Cracker Barrel. We tried to indulge this craving, but after a 20-minute wait with the Georgia yokels, we decided it was KFC or bust.

2008 Olympic Qualification
by Blake Cantrell - Jan.3rd,2007
I'm not an Olympian.
Yes, that's right people; I will not be competing in the 2008 Olympiad in Beijing. I'm sorry to disappoint you, my legions of adoring internet fans but I think that at this point in my life I can best serve the volleyball world as a disgruntled ex-hack volleyer and hack writer. That said, I am really wondering what the crud we are going to do for these upcoming Olympics.
It's not always "Peanut Butter Jelly Time..."
by Hans Stolfus - Dec. 27th, 2006
Funny Story. While getting out of a taxi directly in front of Circular Quay's famous ferry landing last week in Sydney, Australia, I noticed a young man walking toward me wearing a "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" t-shirt. At first I rubbed my eyes in that ultra dramatic way a baby does when they're tired to make sure I was, in fact, seeing what I thought I was seeing. Sure enough, "Peanut Butter Jelly Time." Hard to believe, I know - either way, pretty cool.
I'm All About Speculation
by Hans Stolfus - Nov. 14th, 2006
Who doesn't enjoy gossiping about future partnerships for the 2007 AVP Season? That's what I thought, so let's get after it. From the top...
Phil and Todd
These guys aren't going anywhere. What did they win, like 28 tournaments this year? Ridiculous. Manhattan (Grand Daddy), Santa Barbara (Todd's Home) and the Grand Slam in Klagenfurt, Austria (First FIVB Win) seem to stand out as their highlights but frankly; there are just too many wins to name them all. Not to mention, they are not breaking up until possibly well after we see them on the podium at the 29th Olympiad.
